Logging a fill
Fleet → Fuel Logs → Add entry, or from the driver app at the pump. Record:
- the vehicle
- the odometer reading at the fill — this is what makes the numbers mean anything
- litres and total amount paid
- the station, optionally
What it calculates
From consecutive fills on the same vehicle, FleetOS derives distance travelled, litres per 100km (or km per litre), and fuel cost per kilometre.
Accuracy depends on full tank to full tank. Part fills produce noisy figures, because the app cannot know how much was in the tank to begin with.
Cost per kilometre
The vehicle detail page combines fuel, maintenance and other logged expenses against distance travelled to give a running cost per kilometre — the number to compare vehicles on, and the one that shows when an old vehicle has become more expensive than a replacement.
Spotting theft
A sudden worsening in consumption on one vehicle, with no change in route or load, is the usual first sign of fuel being siphoned or receipts being inflated. The per-vehicle trend makes this visible.
