Getting it
Drivers open /driver-app on the FleetOS site to install it. It runs as an installable web app on any phone, and there is a signed Android build for devices where that works better.
Signing in
With the email you invited them on. A driver sees only their own trips, parcels and expenses — never the rest of the fleet.
What a driver can do
- Go on duty and off duty. Position is only reported while on duty.
- See today's trips, with waypoints in order.
- Follow the route with turn-by-turn guidance and an off-route warning.
- Capture proof of delivery — photo and signature.
- Log fuel fills and expenses, with a photo of the receipt.
- Record vehicle condition photos at handover.
Permissions that matter
- Location: "Allow all the time". "While using the app" stops reporting as soon as the screen locks, which is most of the working day.
- Battery optimisation: excluded. Many Android phones suspend background apps and will silently stop tracking otherwise.
- Notifications, so dispatch can reach the driver about a new or changed trip.
Offline
The app keeps working with no signal. Trips, positions and proof of delivery queue on the phone and upload when coverage returns.
