Employee records and shift tracking

Staff records, attendance, and how labour cost reaches your numbers.

Employee records

Employees holds your staff records. Each person should have their own record and their own login or PIN.

This is not administrative tidiness. A shared login means sales by staff all show one person, a drawer shortfall has no owner, and you cannot tell who was on the floor when something went wrong.

Shifts

Open a shift at the start of service and close it at the end, counting the drawer. The system tells you what should be there; the count tells you what is.

Investigate differences the same night. A small difference found immediately is usually a miscount; the same difference found at month end cannot be placed.

Attendance and labour cost

Recording who worked when is what turns labour into a number you can manage. Labour cost against takings is one of the three figures that decide whether a restaurant works — and it cannot be calculated from memory.

Staff meals

Ring them up rather than letting them leave as untracked stock. Staff meals recorded as nothing show up later as an unexplained shortfall on specific ingredients, and get mistaken for theft.

Paying people

RestaurantOS records employees, attendance and shifts. Full payroll processing — payslips, statutory deductions and salary disbursement — is handled in Kinxso Accounts, which carries a payroll module with draft, approved and paid pay runs.

If payroll inside RestaurantOS itself would matter to you, tell us. What customers ask for is what gets built next.
