Connecting it
Most thermal receipt printers are supported. Connect it, select it in settings, and print a test receipt before your first customer rather than during.
If nothing prints
Confirm Windows can print to it first. Print a Windows test page. If Windows cannot print, the POS cannot either — the problem is the driver or the cable, not the app.
Then re-select the printer in settings and print a test receipt.
Receipts cut off or garbled
The paper width is set wrong, or the wrong driver is selected. Check the printer width setting matches your paper — usually 58mm or 80mm. A receipt formatted for 80mm paper on a 58mm roll loses the right-hand side of every line.
The cash drawer will not open
Most cash drawers open through the receipt printer rather than connecting to the PC directly. Check the cable between the drawer and the printer, and confirm the printer itself is working.
Barcode scanners
Scanners simply type what they read, so most work with no configuration. Test by scanning into the product search box — if the code appears, you are ready. If it types into the wrong place, click into the product search first; whatever is focused receives the input.
The hardware section of the Kinxso POS manual covers all of this.
