What it does
The Multi-Terminal LAN module lets several tills work together over your local network. One machine holds the data and the others connect to it, so products, stock and sales are shared between them in real time.
No internet is required. This is deliberate: a dropped connection should never stop a shop selling, which is the main reason to choose the desktop product over a cloud one.
What you need
- The Multi-Terminal LAN module on your licence
- Enough terminals on your licence to cover the number of tills
- All the PCs on the same local network
Your edition decides the terminal count. Standard covers 3; Pro is unlimited. Activating more PCs than your licence allows will be refused.
Setting it up
Set one machine as the main one, and point the others at it on the network. Each terminal still activates with your licence.
If a terminal cannot see the main machine
It is almost always the network rather than the app:
- Are both PCs on the same network, not one on guest Wi-Fi?
- Is the Windows firewall blocking the connection on the main machine?
- Is the main machine switched on and awake?
Keep the backups on the main machine
The data lives on the main PC, so that is the one whose backup matters — and it should be copied somewhere off that machine.
